Features and Benefits
The macula is responsible for your central detailed vision, such as reading, and is located at the central area of the eye’s retina.
Saffron is a spice made from the flower of Crocus sativus. Its characteristic taste and aroma comes from the antioxidants Picrocrocin and Safranal. Its colour is due to the naturally occurring, antioxidant carotenoid, Crocin. Carotenoids are important components of the macula. They are not synthesised by the body and must be obtained from the diet. Carotenoids are strong antioxidants and reduce the effects of oxidative stress on the macula, as you age.
The Macular Saffron formula has been especially developed based on findings from AREDS & AREDS2 clinical research studies.
Macular Saffron Complex contains Vitamins C & E, Zinc & Copper, which were part of the active components of the AREDS research study, and may benefit the macula region. The recommended daily intake of Macular Saffron Complex provides 500mg Vitamin C, 400IU Vitamin E, 50mg Zinc and 2mg Copper.
